Welcome
Within 6 years, ISKSS has been growing up into a community for knowledge and systems sciences, whose name even exhibits its particular views toward complex problems solving.
The conference will consist of keynote talks and paper presentations, invited sessions and workshops, to facilitate promote the exchange and interaction of knowledge across disciplines and borders to explore the new territories and new frontiers. Even with nearly 10-year continuous endeavors, attempts to strictly define the knowledge science may be still too ambitious, while a very tolerant, broad-based and open-minded approach to the discipline can be taken. Knowledge science and systems science can be used for one another as methodology and tool and benefit each other. Around these disciplines, the first International Symposium on Knowledge and Systems Sciences, initiated and organized by Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, was held in September of 2000 (KSS'2000), then KSS'2001 (Dalian, China), KSS'2002 (Shanghai, China), KSS'2003 (Guangzhou, China), KSS'2004 (JAIST, Japan) and KSS'2005 (Vienna, Austria) had been held and many scientists and researchers, from different countries, contributed to all those symposia. This year, the seventh symposium, KSS' 2006 will be held in Beijing and still expect to provide excellent opportunities for the presentation of interesting new research results, and discussion about them, leading to knowledge transfer and the synergetic generation of new ideas.
Gu, Jifa Nakamori, Yoshiteru Wang, Zhongtuo
