Introduction

Along with the Institute of Systems Science founded, the Division of Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics is one department of the institute. The Chinese famous algebraist, academician at Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor WAN Zhexian is a staff member at this Division. Researches in this Division are active. The Division is mainly focusing on the follow research fields:

• Algebra
• Topology
• Differential Topology
• Nonstandard Analysis
• Differential Equation
• Functional Analysis
• Computation Algebra  

Furthermore,researchers in the department also supervise graduate students, and are responsible for lecturing on some graduate courses at some universities, other institutes, and the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
