On Practical Applications of Active Disturbance Rejection Control

Abstract: In this talk, I will present a summary of some recent developments in practical applications of the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC). ADRC is a novel disturbance estimation and rejection concept, leading to a new technologywith a distinct advantage where, unlike most existing methods, disturbances, internal and external, are actively estimated and rejected. Applications of the new approach in solving industry-wide bench mark problems have led to a slew of innovative solutions. The scope of the applications shown in this paper includesmotion control, web tension regulation, DC-DC power converters, chemical processes, and micro-electro-mechanical systems gyroscope.

 

Bio:Qing Zheng (郑青), Associate professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Gannon University, received the Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University and Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from National University of Singapore. Before joining Gannon University, she had been employed at Beijing Institute of Control Devices (航天部一院13所) for five years. Her research interests include active disturbance rejection control and its applications as well as multivariable control and optimization.
